Shadowens, Wilma, (Raney), 74 of Knoxville TN, formerly of Dayton, passed away Friday June 6, 2014 at her home after a lengthy illness in the presence of her husband of 57 years William "Bill" Shadowens. Wilma "Nanna" brought into this world William Jr. ( Nancy) and Brian K. (Angela) Shadowens, who survive her. Also surviving are four grandchildren Michael Scott, Amy Michelle, Caleb Jaxson, and Briana Nicole, a great-grand daughter Olivia Sage Middlebrooks, sister Linda Sue Gullett. Wilma was born in Pulaski County KY on June 15, 1939 to Carl and Alta (Hawk) Raney both of whom preceded her in death. There she lived with her grandparents until she was about 14 years of age. At that time she moved to Dayton OH to live with her mother and attended Wilbur Wright and Patterson Co-Op High Schools there. While at Patterson she met Bill, the love of her life. In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother and example to her children she also worked at many jobs outside the home as she moved over the years with her husband and children to five different states and eventually retired from Bass Inc., Dayton. Wilma loved the Lord and is reigning with Him today! Visitation 5-7 pm Monday June 9 at West Carrollton Nazarene Church, where she was a faithful member of the Red Hats. Funeral services 11:00 am Tuesday at the church with Pastor Bryan Heil officiating. Burial in Trissell Cemetery.
