Susan Elizabeth Leppin

Susan Elizabeth Leppin, age 68, of Louisville, passed away Sunday November 9th 2025 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was the oldest of 5 girls — Diane, Marybeth, Sandra and Eleanor of West Milford, New Jersey. Susan moved to Ft Lauderdale, Florida in the 1980s where she raised her only daughter and owned a pet store breeding animals in the Everglades. They both moved to East Tennessee in 2002 just after her daughter graduated high school, 

She is survived by her daughter Jillianne Rynes, her husband Walter Rynes III, their six children in Maryville, TN and her step-son Nick Warren and his wife Joy Warren and their two children in Middle Tennessee. As well as her oldest sons George and Erich Peer, their spouses and their children. Susan had close to 15 total grandchildren. Susan had lots of friends and family that adored her. 

To all that knew her she was fierce and feisty, but full of love, commitment, and intelligence beyond what we understood. She loved her family and her dog Stella. She loved to debate, garden, collect trinkets beyond your wildest dreams and all things survivalist. She was the most loved and loving wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be forever remembered by the large family she left behind.
