Robert Penney Obituary

Robert Gordon Penney, age 82, of Seymour, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Robert was a retired Master Sergeant, serving honorably in the United States Air Force. He also played top level fast pitch softball throughout the country, playing his last game at age 59. He and his wife, Milly, built a wonderful home life for their children and friends. They were dubbed the "cool parents" - where most of the neighborhood kids wanted to congregate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Katie Penney; brothers, Bill and Burwell Penney. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Milly Penney; son, Rik Penney of Seymour; daughter, Debra Andriacchi of Murrietta, CA; grandchildren, Trevallon (Teressa) Penney, Analisa (Matthew) Flaherty, Cody Penney; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Penney, Leah & Kalynn Flaherty Isabella Penney; sister, Barbara (Paul) Gulbis of Athens, AL; special friends, Don & Doris Carrigan, Stephen K. Jones, Louis Cagle. Mr. Penney was cremated and a private graveside ceremony was held at East TN Veteran's Cemetery with Military Honors.
