Richard Parker Hanson III

Richard Parker Hanson, III. of Athens, died Saturday August 5th, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved son of Thelma (Bruce) Hanson and the late Richard Parker Hanson, Jr. Richard enjoyed playing music, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his mother Thelma (Bruce) Hanson, his beloved son Command Sergeant Major David Paul Hanson and his wife Christina, and his three grandchildren, Elizabeth, David and Kolton of Fort Polk, Louisiana. He is also survived by his sisters Deborah Duquette of Phoenix, Arizona and Lori Hopkins with her husband Robert Hopkins of Cranston, Rhode Island, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. No local ceremonies are scheduled at this time. Burial will be in Acotes Cemetery in Chepachet, Rhode Island. Arrangements entrusted to Dotson Funeral Home, Wildwood.
