Patricia 'Diane' McMillian Obituary

Patricia Diane McMillian, 51, a lifelong resident of Blount County entered her heavenly home on Sunday February 20, 2022 at UT medical center surrounded by those she loved most.

She was born March 2, 1970 and was the daughter of Tom and Marion Dockery. She was a Christian by faith and a member of Friendship Baptist church in Maryville.

Diane was an avid precious moments collector. In her free time she enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching squirrels play while listening to the wind chimes, working numerous puzzles, crafting, reading books but especially the Bible, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She loved scenic drives to the mountains, chasing waterfalls, and traveling to new places. She enjoyed to camp and fish on the lake. Her favorite part of any vacation was walking along the beach at night listening to the waves roll in. Her childlike passion for all holidays manifested into a lifelong swoon of decorations and her home always being filled with holiday cheer. Above all, Diane loved being surrounded by those she cherished and held dear. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Diane was preceded in death by her late husband, Tim “Tiny” McMillian, father-in-law Wade McMillian, and Nephew Michael Murr.

Left to cherish her many memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Leanna and Cole Gibson of Maryville; Soulmate Charles Simerly whom she loved dearly of Maryville, his parents Harold & Delores Simerly, Charles daughter Chelsey (Zack) Everett and granddaughter Mia; Father Tom (Rena) Dockery of Tellico Plains; Mother Marion Dockery of Freeport FL; Mother-in-law Lois McMillian of Maryville; Sisters Marie (CJ) McGeorge of Decatur and Tracy (Jerry) Posey of Oneida; Brothers Ted (Dana) Pecot of Freeport FL, Kevin (Ann) Pecot of Maryville, and Chuck (Gloria) Bowling of Lenior City; Life long friend turned sister April Guinn of Walland; God-daughter Athena Guinn of Walland; Nephews Jordan (Brianna) Murr, Brandon Pecot, and Austin (Theresa) Pecot; Nieces Christy (Joey) Rizza and Lindsey (Justin) Neece; Special friends whom were thought of as family Steve & Tammy Ingold, Rodger & Bethany Eldridge, and Sandra Best; Several cousins and many friends.

Diane will especially be remembered for her fiery spirit and passion for life.
