Mark Steven “Steve” Williamson, age 62, of Rockford, died at Blount Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2025.
With broken hearts and much sadness, the family of Steve—dad, Papaw—announces his passing on Monday, April 14, 2025. His kindness and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, then you surely knew the meaning of true, unconditional love.
He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids more than anything. If he could, he would have spent every minute he had here on this earth in Citico, camping and fishing with his “brothers.” He loved to tinker in the garage, always saying he was fixing something—but we all knew it would never be back the way it was supposed to be. Yard work will never be the same without him telling you, “You missed a spot,” or “Just let me do it.” From wheelchair races to silly games we played, he was always here to have a good time. Many laughs have been had, and we will miss his one-of-a-kind sense of humor.
Heaven said it best: “Papaw, you are now walking with Jesus with your new legs and running with your fast tennis shoes and fishing like an old man.” We will miss you with every breath we take, and we love you beyond measure.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother Nola Williamson; grandfather, Rufus Williamson; and his brothers Mike, Dennis, Donnie, and Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karrin Williamson; his three children, Scott, Sissy, and Betty; six grandchildren, Ravin, Rhyan, Mattie, Joseph, Conner, and Heaven; father, Joe Williamson; sister, Debbie White (John); brother Tim (Debbie) Williamson; sisters-in-law, Jane, Tracy, and Buffey; brother-in-law (but more like a brother), Larry; sons-in-law, Robert and Rick; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
“See you soon, Putts! We love you!”
Love,
Your Family
