Leisa Ann Shanks

Leisa Ann Shanks (Hord), age 49, of Louisville, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at UT Medical Center after a hard fought battle with cancer. Leisa was a compassionate person who took joy in helping others. She loved her family, friends, and her puppies. She also greatly enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and spending time in the mountains. She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Hord; paternal grandparent, Arnold and Bonnie Louise Hord; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Wilson; aunt, Bette Rae Humphrey. Survivors include her husband, Shawn Shanks; mother, Donna Wilson of Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Peggy Hord of Lenoir City; sisters, Brenda Maxwell and Denise Gipson, both of Arkansas; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at William Blount Praise & Worship Chapel, 1610 William Blount Drive, Maryville, with the Rev. Samuel Willocks, officiating. The family will receive friends following the ceremony. Any donations may be made to her mother (and she will then donate that to pet or cancer funding in Leisa's memory.)
