Janie ‘Laverne' Flanagin, age 70, of Walland, formerly of South Knoxville, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Laverne loved car rides to the mountains and spending time with her husband, Curtis. She tried to help others and took great care of her grandchildren. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Janie Simpson; brothers, Donnie and Douglas Simpson; sister, Katie Black. Survivors include her husband, Curtis Flanagin; son, Ronnie Romines; daughters, Debra Mikels and Susie Skinner; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Diane) Simpson; sister, Susan Simpson. Memorial Ceremony will be 6:00 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at E Avenue House of Prayer, 818 Drive E, Knoxville, 37920 with Pastor Jonathan Clabough, officiating.
