Johnny Utah Yarbrough, age 76, of Friendsville, died Monday, January 5, 2026, at Erwin Healthcare Center.
Johnny was a loving and devoted husband. He was highly intelligent and capable of doing just about anything he set his mind to. Fiercely independent, he lived life on his own terms. He could be stubborn and, at times, spiteful, but those traits were part of the strong-willed nature that defined him.
He worked as an office manager for an office supply company, where his intelligence and organizational skills served him well. His abilities extended far beyond his profession—Johnny was skilled with his hands and took great pride in remodeling his own home.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Melody Yarbrough and Melissa Cook, and by his beloved dog, Rosie.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Nadine Yarbrough; daughter, Amanda Carter; brother, Gary Robinson; special grandson, TJ; and several other grandchildren.
The family extends special thanks to Michael, Rachel, Joyce and Chuck, Darlene and Fred, and Randy for their care, support, and kindness.
No ceremonies are scheduled at the present time. Cremation Done Properly™ under the care of Dotson Funeral Home & Cremation, Wildwood (865-984-5959).
