Jerry Wayne Manis, age 76 passed away on October 1, 2025.
Born to the late Charles and Anna “Toots” (Wolfe) Manis, Jerry was raised in the Knob Creek Community and graduated from Seymour High School. He enlisted in the Air National Guard & began his career at Alcoa shortly after, retiring after 39 years of service. He spent most of his life in Maryville and had lived in Kentucky in recent years. Jerry enjoyed fishing, boating, motorcycles and camping when he wasn’t working. He was a master mechanic and could fix any number of things. He had lifelong friends he kept in touch with and was known for his easy smile and sarcastic sense of humor. He loved his dogs and especially complaining about them while spoiling them.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Mackey, and brother, Jack Manis. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 23 years, Debbie Manis; son, Brad Manis & wife Ronna; several grandchildren in both Tennessee and Kentucky; nieces, nephews; and other extended family and many friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at Knob Creek Baptist Cemetery on Saturday, October 18th at 11:00am with Pastor Greg Wolfe officiating. Service will conclude with military honors provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
