Janice Farris

Janice Farris , 89 yrs old of Maryville, TN died at Asbury Memory Care with complications from dementia on November 8, 2024.

     Janice was born in Chicago, IL in 1935 to James Elmer and Zella Irene Rudd and moved to Maryville as a child to be closer to other family members. Janice graduated from Everett High School and was a lifelong member of Maryville First Baptist Church. 

     She married Robert Wesley Bivens and has four children: Diane (Kerry) Hodges, David Bivens, Linda Holloway, and estranged son Stuart Bivens. She has six grandchildren: Jonathan (Racheal) Petty, Halee Bivens, Cassidy McSpadden, Katelyn Bivens, Emily Holloway, and Jennifer Holloway. She has four great grandchildren: Reagan, Hannah, Julian, and Wesley. 

     She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her sisters, Shirley Dunnagan and Nancy Farmer, and her husband, Billy Farris.

     Janice loved dogs above all, and in lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her memory to Maryville Alcoa Animal Rescue Center, which is where she found her last love, her Dolly. 

Graveside Ceremony wil be 1:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2024 at Grandview Cemetery with Dougas & Kathy Alexandeer, officiating,
