It is with great sorrow to announce our loved one, Janet Lee (Marcum) Lewis of Knoxville, TN., was called home early by our heavenly Father, on April 2, 2020. Her passing was unexpected and she will be missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Marcum and Ruth (Reagen) Marcum. She leaves behind her loving brother Steve Carr & wife Gwen Carr and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews that loved her very much.
Janet was born in Knoxville, TN, Nov 12, 1964. Her family moved to Mabelton, GA where she spent her early childhood. The family later moved to Walland, TN where she spent her youth and later graduated from Pebblebrook High School. She attended Walter State Community College & the University of Tennessee. She served in the United States Air Force for 6 yrs at Little Rock, AR as a Medical Technician with the rank of E4.
Janet was kind hearted and a free spirited person, giving to anyone in need. She loved music, long talks, swimming, people and the great outdoors. She spent much of her youth along the Little River in Walland, fishing and camping with family and friends. She had many stories to tell of her father taking her fishing and enjoying time spent in the country. She gave unconditional love to all she met along the road of life. She never judged others by where they were from, what they did or didn't have and she never met a stranger.
There will be a military graveside service held on April 11, 2020 at Cold Springs Baptist Church, 1226 Cold Springs Rd, Walland, TN., at 3:00 p.m. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we ask that you keep your 6 ft distance and respect state regulations in place at this time.
