James Lee Seneker, 78, Seymour, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at the family home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mae Seneker, and brother, Henry Martin. He is survived by a son, Rob Seneker, a daughter Lisa (Keeno) Keys, Texas; grandsons Chris Watkins, Alex Keys, Marc Swicegood (Cynthia Buchan), a great-granddaughter, Kilee; a sister Sara (Doyle) Johnson, Jonesborough, TN; and brother, Rev. Clay (Ida) Seneker, Soddy Daisy, TN; nieces and nephews: Rhonda (Bill) Franks, Florida; Debbie (Mike) Rainguet, Colorado; Laura Seneker, Chattanooga; Jason (Carolyn) Seneker, Chattanooga; great-nieces: Adrienne Walera, Rachel Walera, Nevada; Renee (Jordan) Jefferies, Colorado ; Elizabeth Seneker, Chattanooga; and great-great niece: Indy Walera-Henry, Nevada; several cousins; and beloved companions, his dogs Snow and Lady. Jim pursued his passion of cattle farming in Blount County after retiring from Greenback Industries and Burroughs Business Machines. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Knoxville. He attended Washburn High School, Washburn, TN, and graduated from Karns High School, Knoxville in 1955. He participated in FFA and the varsity basketball team. During the 1980's he raised Arabian horses and managed endurance races in Tellico Plains, TN. He received a heart transplant in 1996 and was active in Tennessee Transplant Association as a public speaker to promote organ donation. He participated in the Transplant Olympics and won medals in several events. For as long as he was able, he attended Tennessee Volunteer games. After a private family viewing/gathering, Mr. Seneker was cremated. Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 6632 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville.
