James Edward Alderton, age 73, of Maryville, died on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Prisma Health Blount Memorial Hospital.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a devoted father to his twelve children, who were the pride of his life. He loved Jesus above all else and dedicated his life to serving the Lord, with drums being his lifelong passion. He was an active member of his non-denominational church and made sure his family attended as often as possible. A true sports fan, he cheered for Michigan teams and claimed to be Tom Brady’s biggest fan. Known for his sense of humor, he loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to connect with anyone he met. A hands-on father who even delivered his own children, he was a hardworking pipe fitter, faithful to his family, self-sacrificing, generous, and always willing to give. His love, laughter, and devotion will be deeply missed.
