Gail Murphy

Brenda “Gail” Murphy, age 77, of Maryville, died Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the family home.

Gail was known as Bob’s “boss,” always keeping him on the high road with her loving guidance and steady presence. She was the glue that held everyone together—kind, compassionate, and thoughtful. Gail had a gift for listening, and anyone who knew her knew they could talk with her about anything.

She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors, but above all, Gail loved Jesus and lived her life guided by her faith.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bob Murphy; daughters, Lynne Dixon (Chris) and Karen Murphy; grandchildren, Tristan Bell, Chris Law, Alexis Nanney, Caylee Gibbs, Izzy McNiel, and Abi Dixon; great-grandchild, Briar; sisters, Debbie Hodge and Angie Cardwell (Mike); and beloved dogs, Bitsy and Bo.

After a private family viewing, Ms. Murphy will be cremated.
