Ferman Elijah Heaton,age 71, of Beatyville, Ky, formerly f Maryville, departed this life on June 23, 2014. He was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Myrtle Gribble Heaton, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on May17, 1943. Ferman worked for many years as a respected police officer. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Leonard, Ralph, Fern and Earl Heaton; two sisters, Zelvia Johnson and Pauline Evans; and ex-wife, Patty Moore Heaton. Ferman is survived by five children, Jennifer Heaton of Beattyville, Kentucky, Jonathan Heaton of Lexington, Kentucky, Jeffrey Heaton, Tim Heaton, and Carla Heaton all of Knoxville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Dylan Moore of Beattyville, and one nephew, Ronnie Heaton of Acworth, Georgia. Graveside Services will be 1:00 P.M., Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Nelson Chapel Cemetery. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Saturday at Dotson Funeral Home. www.dotsonfuneralhome.com
