Edeltraude 'Trudy' Christa Rolen

Edeltraude "Trudy" Christa Rolen age 76, of Ewing, Virginia, died Saturday, August 22, 2026, at her daughter's home.

Trudy could best be described as a loving mother and a friend to all who knew her. She was a classy lady who was as sweet as she was feisty and had a way of making everyone around her feel loved. Trudy worked as a CNA and later as a medical records clerk. She attended Christ of the Cumberlands Lutheran Church.

Trudy's true passion was traveling the world and experiencing God's beautiful creations. She loved seeking out new adventures and making memories, whether she was ziplining in Costa Rica with her dear friend JJ or visiting family in Germany. Her love language was baking cakes for others, something she did faithfully every week. Through her baking, she showed love to family and friends and brought people together. She also enjoyed gardening, celebrating Christmas, and spending time with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Georg and Erika Schmitt; spouses, John Bussell and CB Rolen; and daughter, Samantha Meade.

Survivors include her daughter, Vanessa Yates (Chuck); grandchildren, Taylor Taylor (Cameron), Tyler Odle, and Tanner Yates; great-grandchildren, Maverick Odle, Carson Taylor, and Colston Taylor; brother, Wolfgang Schmitt; sister, Patricia Giessibl; niece,Saskia Menga; nephew, Fabian Geissibl and close friends, Jeanette Davis, Glenn Mullins, Richard Smith, and Joyce Porritt.

The family will be having a memorial ceremony at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Redmond Reserve Event Center, 149 N. 28th Street, Middlesboro, KY.
