CLARENCE EDGAR (BOBE) STORY JR. Clarence Edgar (Bobe) Story Jr., Age 81, of Alcoa, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015. He was a member of Grace Bible Church. He served as an M.P. Specialist - Third Class '54-‘56; honorably discharged. He served the city of Alcoa for over 30 years as a police officer, fire chief, and purchasing agent. Mr. Story was a football and basketball star at Walland High School and won letters in football, basketball, and track at Maryville College. Some highlights include scoring the winning touchdown against arch-rival Carson Newman, running a long touchdown in Maryville's Rocket-Bowl victory, batting .342 in Baseball, and hitting a towering home-run that landed in the football field against The University of Kentucky. Bobe loved playing golf and fishing with his pals and took much delight in his unforgettable, well-calculated pranks. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edgar Story Sr. and Lura Jane Singleton Story; brother James Ray Story and grandson Dylan Thomas Bryant. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty years: Wanda June Burns Story; Daughters (and spouses): Lea (Linwood) Metts, Sonya Lay, Myra Bryant, Amy (John) Maguire, and Beth (Karl) Kokko; Grandchildren (and spouses): Lindsay Metts (John) Fikkert, Landon (Daphne) Metts, Roman Lay, Alexi Lay, Shea Bryant, Justin Maguire, Kaley Maguire (Matthew) Hill, Cierra Maguire, Taylor Rhode, and Abi Rhode; Five great-grandchildren; Siblings (and spouses): Jean Sears, Hattie (W.L. "Dub") Duckett, Lowell (Toni) Storey, Bonnie Schrieber, and Don (Carol) Story. Funeral service will be held at 1 o' clock p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at West Millers Cove Missionary Baptist Church in Walland with brother Don Story officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery with military honors. Special thanks to friends, caregivers, and Blount Memorial Hospice for their boundless love and support.
