Clara Messersmith Polster, age 89, of Rockford, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Raleigh, NC. Clara was a retired medical records technician. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting and needlework She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Polster, 6 brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Randy) Strickland of Lakeland, FL, Carolyn (Rick) Whitehurst of Cary, NC; grandchildren, grandchildren, Kyle Whitehurst, Heather Whitehurst (Chris) MacLachlan, Keith Whitehurst; Great Grandchildren Kaleb MacLachlan, Savannah MacLachlan, Kayla Whitehurst; special niece, Esther Hellmich. Graveside ceremony will be 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, with the Rev. Derrick Roberts, officiating.
