Betty Smith Obituary

Betty Elizabeth Snoe Davis Smith was born to Lucille White and L. Burretta Davis on August 9, 1939 in Wynnburg, Tennessee.

Ms. Betty accepted Christ at an early age.  She was a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist church and later became a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed her.  Betty was employed at NHC Nursing Home for many years until her retirement and then began volunteering at the Senior Center visiting, nursing homes and caring for others. Betty loves watching all sports and had several children that played in High School and Collegiate and Professional Sports.

She was a member of the Missionary Board, Senior Choir, Mother’s Board and President of Pastor’s Aide and a Sunday School Teacher.

Ms. Betty passed away on January 4, 2021 at 81 years of age.  She leaves behind 10 children: Patricia Merriweather, Diane Sturdivant, J.R. Smith, Jr., Jackie Smith, Brenda (Tommy Joe) Richardson, Jeffrey (Tracy) Smith, Carol Smith, Anthony (deceased), Timothy (Carolyn) Smith, Pamela and Stephanie: Sister, Callie B. Knox, Rockford, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She had four (4) Special Friends: Augustine Wright, Wauline Scott, Dorothy Dance, and Rev. David Curry. 

She will be greatly missed.
