Arlene Russell

Arlene Russell, age 83, of Greenback, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the family home.

Arlene was strong willed, dependable, and loved others, especially her children & grandchildren.  She enjoyed working in the yard and going to the mountains, as well as drawing, artwork, and scrapbooking.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Yates; grandson, Michael Kirkland; sisters, Phyllis Silverwood, Edith Cowden, & Inez Cowden; brothers:  Billy, James, & Calvin Cowden; parents, Jack and Hazel Cowden; first husband, Alfred Kirkland.

Survivors include her daughters:  Tammy Garrett (Dan), Melissa Baker; sons:  Ralph Russell, Clent Kirkland (Deana), Ronald Kirkland (Lori); grandchildren, Joshua Barden, Mary Russell, Lana Russell, Cara Kirkland, Katrina Kirkland, Chad Kirkland, Amanda Herrell; great grandchildren, Bentley, Tatiyana, Braylon, Grant, Hunter, Austin, Hailey; great great grandchild, Jasper; brothers:  Wade & Kenneth Cowden; close friend, Ralph C. Russell; ‘old friend’, Jan Garrett; many other family & friends.

Funeral Ceremony will be 7:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 in the Dotson Wildwood Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Carpenter officiating.  Interment will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 15, 2023 at East Maryville Cemetery.
