Ronald Keasler Obituary

Ronald Wayne Keasler “Ronnie” passed away on October 22, 2021  in Maryville, Tn. at the age of 63 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He leaves behind his wife Sherry, a daughter Shandi Balvantine (Jose), a son Joshua Keasler (Kayla), a grandson Colton Keasler, sisters Carolyn Russell, Sandra Marcum and Leta Bryant and two step children Amber Porter (Eric) and Spencer Bevington (Bethany) in addition to his nieces and nephews Sonja, Renee, Lisa, Adrian, Georgie and Barry.

Ronnie was born on August 23, 1958 in Maryville to Harold and Myrtle Keasler (Roberts), who predeceased him. He also has a sister Mildred Teffeteller, a brother Robert “Bobby” Keasler, a sister Donna Keasler (who died in infancy) and one niece Melissa Marcum who predeceased him as well. He was a 1977 graduate of Everett High School.

Ronnie was retired after working for 22 years at Lakeshore Mental Health Institute in Knoxville until the facility closed and was also the director of security at Blount Memorial Hospital. He had a love for rhythm & blues, especially Stevie Ray Vaughan and had a passion for The Three Stooges that will never be understood. When diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September of 2021, he fought as hard as he could to win the battle and he remained brave throughout his final months.

Ronnie’s wife Sherry would especially like to thank the Dellinger and Knapke families for their assistance and to all that donated gifts, time and transportation for Ronnie. It means more than you could possibly know. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to his wife for Ronnie’s medical and funeral expenses. Donations can also be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org).

“What I am trying to get across to you; is please take of yourselves and those that you love; because that is what we are here for, that's all we got, and that is all we can take with us.” – Stevie Ray Vaughan
