Cody Owings Obituary

James “Cody” Owings, age 33, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 after an unexpected tragedy.

Cody was born on March 6, 1990 to Melinda Janes and Jimmy Owings in Milledgeville, GA. He was a graduate of South Doyle High School in 2008. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Anyone that met him couldn’t help but love him. He loved his family and they loved him even more. He was an avid pool player and excelled at anything he tried.

Cody was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Owings; grandparents, James and Ann Owings, Gene and Doris Janes.

Survivors include his loving mother, Melinda Owings(Jerry Ivey); loving sister, Amber Owings; aunts, Jeannie Lane, Kathy Williams, Karol Janes Brown; uncle, Paul Owings.
